Väsen are in their element on stage, breathing fire into their already complex instrumental compositions -- turning them inside out, in real time. Väsen Live follows their acclaimed 1999 release Gront and brings the listener on stage with the band, including some great examples of the band "thinking on their feet" (i.e. improvising new arrangements on the spot!) as in the closing selections Nitti Pomfritti and Grannens Favorit. The band are joined here by Norwegian fiddler Annbjørg Lien on Roger Tallroth's Dragos and by the "bad fiddles from Sweden" Harv (Magnus Stinnerbom & Daniel Sandén-Warg) on Polska After Mats Berglund / Sold or Sale.
