Norway's Traditional Folk Big Band!

Chateau Neuf learn traditional tunes by ear, then develop collective arrangements for a heavenly female vocal ensemble backed by a modern rhythm section, horns, and fiddles -- 16 musicians in all. A favorite for dancing and having a great time.

Since 1994 Chateau Neuf has been hailed by both audiences and the press as one of the most exciting new bands in Norway. The band has performed at many folk and jazz festivals in Norway, Germany and Sweden and appears frequently on Norwegian television. Their music was introduced to North American audiences a few years ago by the Henry Kaiser / David Lindley recording expeditions to Norway for The Sweet Sunny North on Shanachie.
